Brazil has many new books to share with the world, and Brazilian Publishers can help you to discover them. The Books and Rights Catalogue 2019/2020 was updated with successful titles from publishing houses that are members of Brazilian Publishers — an industry project fostering exports of Brazilian editorial content through a partnership between the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
Seventy-one publishing companies currently participate in the project, which has as its purpose to foster the exports in the industry by means of international connections, qualify professionals from the Brazilian publishing market and promote Brazilian editorial contents.
“By means of such a comprehensive catalogue, we have been disseminating Brazilian literature worldwide for some years. The catalogue is crucial for such work in collaboration with foreign publishers, and it only highlights the diversity of our books”, states Fernanda Dantas, International Affairs Manager of CBL and Manager of Brazilian Publishers.
About Brazilian Publishers
Created in 2008, Brazilian Publishers is an industry project fostering exports of Brazilian editorial content. It was created through a partnership between the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The purpose of the initiative is to promote Brazil’s publishing industry in the global market in a targeted and articulated manner, contributing to professionalization of publishing houses.
In addition to the catalogue, the Brazilian Publishers Translation Fellowship, which provides support to foreign publishers willing to translate Brazilian books to any other language, has also been crucial in this promotion journey.
