In addition to offering more than 1,500 hours of cultural activities oriented to literary immersion, the 25th São Paulo International Book Fair also presents the 1st Professional Days with the participation of 60 professionals from the publishing market, being 30 invited international publishers and 30 publishers supported by the Brazilian Publishers project. The event will take place from August 3rd to 12th, at Anhembi Convention Center, and is organized by the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL) with the support of the Brazilian Publishers, a project to foster exports of Brazilian editorial content through a partnership between CBL and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The Professional Days promotes business rounds between national and international players focusing on the publishing market of Latin American and of the Arab World, guest of honor of this edition of the São Paulo Book Fair. Participants come from various countries, such as Argentina, Colombia, Turkey, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Panama, and the United Arab Emirates. Check the participating companies here.
Luiz Alvaro Salles Aguiar de Menezes, International Affairs Manager of the Brazilian Book Chamber and Manager of Brazilian Publishers, says that the encounter of market professionals stimulates the export of Brazilian literature. “The business rounds are ideal for professionals to present their works, expand their networking and close future projects so that national publications are also released abroad,” he explains.
With the objective of expanding the national publishing market and bringing Brazilian readers closer to the Arab literature, Sharjah is the guest of honor of this year edition. The city-state is a great center of education and culture of the United Arab Emirates, elected by UNESCO as the book’s world capital in 2019.

25th São Paulo International Book Fair
With R$ 32 million investment, the 25th International Book Fair has 1,500 hours of activities, 14 official spaces of the event with activities related to the literary universe, 197 exhibitors and the presence of 291 national and 22 international authors.
