Brazilian delegation attends the Guadalajara Book Fair with publishers and authors

24/11/2021

This year’s edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) takes place from November 27th to December 5th in the Mexican city. This year, Brazilian Publishers – a project for the internationalization of Brazilian editorial content carried out through a partnership between the Brazilian Book Chamber and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – returns in person to the event, considered the largest among HispanicAmerican nations, bringing together representatives from more than 40 countries.

In addition to representatives from publishing houses Girassol Brasil, Callis, Global and Bibliex, authors Claudia Lage, Itamar Vieira Junior, Marcelo Labes, Oscar Nakasato and Tiago Ferro and professor Tania Rösing, considered a “friend of the book” by the 2014 Jabuti Award, will also be present. They were invited by the Destinação Brasil project, which
seeks to present the country’s diversity during the debates in the fair’s program. The program has been running since 2012 through a partnership between the organizers, Brazilian Publishers, the São Paulo Literature Prize and the Brazilian Embassy in Mexico, with support from Textofilia Ediciones and the São Paulo State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy.

“Gradually and safely, we are going to resume our physical presence in the main international events, showing the full potential of our production. FIL is an essential meeting point for Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries, which is why this movement is so important”, explains. The Brazilian stand is held in partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in Mexico and will receive a visit of the ambassador Fernando Coimbra. There will also be the sale of Brazilian books, both in Portuguese and in Spanish, in partnership with Librería Carlos Fuentes and the distributor 2Books.
